SPRUCE MEADOWS

Bounded by Spruce Meadows Trail to the north, city limits to the south, Macleod Trail to the east and Spruce Meadows and Spruce Meadows Way (located within the Municipal District of Foothills and The City of Calgary) to the west. The planned area comprises approximately 1060 acres of land.

As this new community is located in such close proximity to Spruce Meadows and the relationship with Spruce Meadows, an equestrian theme will be supported and encouraged. That will be everything from street names & identification signage to the building architecture and various amenities, recreational and social facilities.

By 2025 the community will have developed into a burgeoning and prosperous area with an estimated 15,000+ residents calling the area home. Residents will find pleasure exploring the area by walking or cycling and finding close proximity of taking public transit to work or school. There will be different recreational areas throughout the area such as creative play areas for younger members of the community as well as more active areas such as soccer and baseball fields.

Major thorough-fares such as Macleod Trail, Spruce Meadows Trail, 194 Avenue or Spruce Meadows Way will conduct motorists to where they need to go. Within the community, direct and convenient pedestrian and vehicular connections have been designed including transit station/hub, transit nodes and the core commercial centre.

Two natural features of the area are wetland conservation areas. The Radio Tower Creek Wetland will border the community to the west side and to the east will be the Priddis Wetland. The wetlands accommodate nature trails, attract a variety of birdlife and have been engineered and protected to be a lasting feature.

Beautiful acreages exist to the south and west of Spruce Meadows and many have great views of the city, the Spruce meadows complex and mountains or combinations. Usually any acreages near Spruce are likely to be over the $850,000 range and most are $1,000,000+
