Evergreen is a SW Calgary Community. Development in the area began in 1986 and has been primarily low density residential in nature. Shawnee Slopes is bounded by Fish Creek Provincial Park to the north, Midnapore to the east, Millrise to the south and Evergreen Estates to the west. Evergreen Estates is a 99 hectare parcel of land bordering Fish Creek Provincial Park to the north and west, 14th Street to the east, and 146th Avenue to the south., It is being developed as a low density residential community as required by the Evergreen Estates Policy Report. The only commercial site will be a small neighborhood shopping centre in the southeast corner of the community. A central open space will form the hub of a linear park system accommodating pathways linking the adjoining communities to Fish Creek Provincial Park.
